Alpine Dedicates a Special Model to its Heritage
Alpine is an interesting automotive company with arguably more interest in its racing agendas than necessarily its road-going vehicles. With teams in F1 and the World Endurance Championship, it's celebrating the latter with a new model to commemorate its Le Mans involvement.
The Alpine A110 R Le Mans Edition will be unveiled at Le Mans this year in preparation for their new LMDh Hypercar.
The A110 R Le Mans is a tribute to their past and future in racing but produces a minimal performance car which encapsulates the mindset of Alpine. There will be only 100 units made, and if you appreciate track-focused cars, this is one to look out for.
The heart of this sports car is a 1.8 litre turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 224 kW and 339 Nm of torque, allowing the A110 R to do 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
The A110 R Le Mans special edition has a carbon fibre wing, wheels, hood, roof and engine cover. This edition also sports Apline's Road and Track choke, which stiffens and lowers the suspension by 5%. Of course, being a track-focused car, there will be a variety of suspension setups over and above the standard A110.
The aesthetic design of the A110 R Le Mans pays tribute to the A430 race car, with blue accents on the wing and wheels, various decals, and a blue stripe running down the centre of the vehicle. Le Mans badges are also placed on the headrests, side sills and front spoiler.
The lucky owners of this particular sports car get a special package along with their vehicles. For 2024, the owner will have access to the Alpine facility and get to do a lap of Le Mans at the start of the official race.
If you're willing to part with a little over R3 million for a sports car, we're sure there's a deal to be struck, given that it's unlikely Alpine will export even a single unit on its accord.
