Another Lamborghini performance boost with the STJ? Possibly
Lamborghini is no stranger to building rather insane supercars. They have almost perfected the art of honing their already crazy cars into ludicrous, special variations. Legends like the Aventador SVJ and Huracan STO prove that Lamborghini is no amateur when it comes to bettering its own creations. Now there is a possibility that the brand could release a variation of the Huracan, which could put even the STO to shame.
It's called the STJ, and rumours of this new development began making their rounds when carbuzz.com uncovered that Lamborghini has reserved a trademark for a name for another Huracan called the STJ. These findings also revealed a new logo for the supercar derivative.
What could this new model be? Well, the brand announced that 2024 will likely be the last run for the brand's V10 supercar, with the future looking to be hybrid V8 based for the Huracan's replacement. So it's likely going to be a highly exclusive model, with only a few units likely to be produced. As for the position of this new supercar, media speculations suggest it will be placed between the STO and the GT3 Huracan with the name pattern of the Aventador SVJ in mind.
The STJ will most likely be a ready-to-race or even track-only version of the STO. It's probable that the STJ will sport the same 470kW V10 from the STO, which boasts a potent 0-100km time of 3.0 seconds. It will likely be lighter than the STO too, and it will come with various adjustable racing parts. If this is the case, it should be more comfortable and slightly less aggressive than the GT3, while retaining the STO spirit in a more track-focused package.
At this point, the possibility of this new supercar is just a name. Lamborghini hasn't said why they selected this name as a trademark, so, for now, we can only imagine what the STJ might look like.
