Following the debut of the Bentley Continental GT Speed, the Crewe-based automaker has taken the wraps off its open-top GT variant.
Now in its third generation, the brand new Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible harbours an enhanced unit of the acclaimed 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine with 485 kW of power and a whopping 900 Nm of torque.
It features an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to all four wheels via an all-wheel-drive system.
A sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h is dispatched in 3.7 seconds while its top speed is capped at 335 km/h.
The new Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible features improved chassis technology, including All-Wheel Steering, an electronic rear differential and the option of carbon-ceramic brakes.
Its ‘Z-fold’ roof can be opened and stowed in 19 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Buyers can choose from seven colours for the soft top.
On the outside, the GT Convertible wears a dark-tinted grille mesh and tweaked side sills while riding on 22-inch forged wheels that can be had in Dark Tint, Bright Silver and Black Gloss.
Seven exterior roof colours are available, including a contemporary interpretation of traditional British tweed. Black, Blue, Claret and Grey are among the other options. Furthermore, eight interior roof liner finishes are offered, ranging from New Red to Magnolia.
The interior is fitted with a two-tone upholstery in leather and Alcantara that can be had in 15 main colours and 11 secondary hues. The steering wheel is covered in suede material while some parts of the cabin are coated in diamond wrap.
As interior trims, the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible can be ordered with Piano Black, Crown Cut Walnut, Dark Stain Burr Walnut, and Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus.
Offered as standard are sports pedals and Speed tread plate plaques. Optional features include Dark Tint, Engine Turned Aluminium console, or a leather alternative to the Speed colour split trim and the Speed Colour Specification.
According to Bentley SA, the Continental GT Speed range will arrive in Mzansi in the fourth quarter of 2021 with pricing for the Coupe starting at R4 945 000 and the Convertible at R5 445 000.
