BMW M4 Competition 50 Jahre Edition honours five decades of M
As a current highlight to mark the BMW M’s 50th anniversary, the high-performance division has revealed its new M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre Edition.
The BMW M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre Edition joins the recently unveiled limited-edition BMW M4 CSL and only five units have been put aside for the local market.
Revisiting historic colours
As a special model, this M4 Competition Coupe is distinguished by style-defining shades from the history of BMW M in the form of Carbon Black, Macao Blue, Brands Hatch Grey, Imola Red and San Marino Blue.
The front axle sits on 19” M forged wheels while the rear is kitted with 20” with double-spoke design and for the first time, they are painted in Orbit Grey Matt and Gold Bronze Matt. BMW SA says all five units destined for our market will feature San Marino Blue with Gold Bronze Matt wheels.

For the exterior paintwork of the edition vehicles, colours from the history of BMW M GmbH are being reissued. These are complemented by M forged wheels in a similarly exclusive colour scheme and striking accents in the interior.
Edition 50 Interior
The interior of the new BMW M4 Coupe 50 Jahre Edition features door sill panels bearing the lettering ‘Edition 50 Jahre BMW M’, a metal plaque on the centre console with the same lettering ‘and a corresponding imprint on the headrests of the standard M carbon bucket seats for driver and front passenger.
Familiar power figures
Power? There aren’t any modifications to the standard car’s powertrain which means the S58 twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline-six engine soldiers on with 375 kW and 650 Nm accessed via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission that channels power to both axles using the M xDrive system.
All five units of the BMW M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre Edition should arrive in SA before the end of the year and pricing will be announced prior.
