Lamborghini is reviving the nameplate of arguably one of its most recognisable models, the Countach LPI 800-4.

Only 112 Lamborghini Countach models will be produced and if you are wondering why only 112 units, the number denotes the ‘LP 112’ internal project name used during the original car’s development.

Powering the new Lamborghini Countach LPI-800-4 is a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine that is paired with a hybrid powertrain. The engine alone produces 573 kW while the hybrid system kicks in with an additional 25 kW, thanks to Lamborghini’s 48-volt super-capacitor technology.

With a combined power output of 599 kW, the Lamborghini Countach sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds en route to a top speed that is capped at 355 km/h.

In terms of design, the new Lamborghini Countach gets its inspiration from the Quattrovalvole edition. It features a wedge shale, lower and sleeker rear bumper, carbon fibre rear diffuser and ‘hexagonita’ three-unit rear light clusters plus four exhaust tips. The front end is fitted with a long bonnet, low rectangular grille and headlights.

Initially introduced in the Countach of the olden days are the scissor doors that have become the signature of the Lamborghini brand.

The Lamborghini Countach has a dry weight of 1,595 kg, thanks to the use of a monocoque chassis and carbon fibre body panels. Visible carbon fibre has also been used on the front splitter, around the front window and wing mirrors, engine bonnet cover air intakes and rocker panel.

The Countach rides on 20” wheels at the front and 21” at the rear shod with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres. Stopping power is provided by carbon-ceramic brake discs.

Buyers can choose from a range of heritage exterior paint options, mostly in solid colours.

The interior is fitted with red and black leather and specially designed comfort seats and dashboard. There is a unique 8.4” HDMI centre touch screen that allows Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Deliveries of the new Lamborghini LPI 800-4 will begin in the first quarter of 2022.
