Ferrari is entering the SUV fray with its Purosangue model that has had people talking since the marque made the announcement.
Remember when Ferrari said it ‘will never conform and make an SUV’? Well, now they have and it’s based on the same platform that also underpins the Roma Coupe, the Ferrari Purosangue has been long coming and while we wait for its official debut, the internet has provided us with early images.
Spied wearing its full production attire, the Purosangue seems to follow Ferrari’s design cues of a long GT-esque nose, sloping roofline as well as sharp elements on the front fascia. The rear image shows a darkened rear diffuser that houses four exhaust tips. A full-width light bar that connects the two sets of taillights also dominates the rear end.
When it finally launches, the Ferrari Purosangue will likely be powered by an electrified turbocharged V8 petrol engine but V12 or V6 powerplants remain a possibility.
The Ferrari Purosangue is expected to begin production before the end of the year and will go head-to-head with already established exotic SUV players like the Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, Bentley Bentayga and even Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
