Honda Fit received a modest upgrade for 2024
The Honda Fit continues to set itself apart as an exceptional car within the B-segment. Not only does it showcase good driving dynamics, except perhaps for the CVT, but it also boasts ample space, practical configurations, and advanced safety features.
Re-introduced in 2021 as the Fit, the former Jazz is in the middle of its life cycle, and following the introduction of the updated hybrid options before the end of 2023, the Japanese manufacturer is now introducing facelifted versions of the standard models.
It's offered in three specification levels: Comfort, Elegance and the aforementioned hybrid models (the Executive variant has been discontinued). The Fit models now feature revised bumpers, a reworked honeycomb grille design, and new lower front bumper inserts.
The updated rear bumper now gives the car a fresh new stance, while the window frames and pillar trims feature a more stylish matte black finish. For a more characterful expression, the headlight projector surround is now painted black.
As standard across the range, Honda offers the Fit with advanced features such as LED headlights, daytime running lights, front and rear parking sensors, smart keyless entry, a 9-inch HMI infotainment system, and Honda Sensing, which includes a collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, a road departure prevention system, and automatic high beam.
Both models are powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine with 89kW and 145Nm of torque sent to the front axle through a CVT transmission.
Priced at R379,900 for the Comfort, R415,900 for the Elegance, and R544,900 for the eco-friendly hybrid, the refreshed Fit range comes standard with a 5-year/200,000km warranty, a 4-year/60,000km service plan, and 3 years of AA roadside assistance as standard.
The hybrid, on the other hand, carries an additional extended 8-year/200,000 km warranty that covers the lithium-ion battery and other related components associated with the hybrid system.
In a nutshell, the Honda Fit, despite the name change in 2021, continues to remain relevant in its segment, and while our top recommendation would be the hybrid variant, the recent updates have significantly enhanced the appeal of the entire range while also adding a multitude of desirable features across the line-up.
