Interior and exterior refresh for the BMW 4 Series and a power bump for the M4
The BMW 4 Series is one of the most desirable coupes available in the modern market, and to ensure that the style stays up to modern standards, BMW has announced that its facelift 4 Series will be arriving in SA in the third quarter.
What can be expected from the new 4? Let's start with the exterior. BMW will now provide more exterior paint colours for its models, while the wheel designs are also seeing an update with the new light-alloy wheels set to improve the presence of the already bold 4 Series. The headlights will sport a new, more striking design and will now provide optional rear laser-beam lights.
The interior is also receiving some love with the revised design of the steering wheel, and the infotainment system is also being improved with the new BMW Operating System 8.5. Furthermore, there are interior trim improvements and seat coverings, which will further improve the level of quality and comfort in the vehicle. BMW will now introduce BMW iDrive with QuickSelect on all vehicles as well as add an optional Augmented View display for the BMW Maps. All new features will be available for both the coupé and convertible.
BMW's M440i will also undergo improvements, starting with the exterior. Its kidney grille will now come in a new design with black gloss colouring and horizontal bars. All Cerium Grey front apron elements will now be replaced with gloss black. This comes as an attempt to further highlight the performance aesthetic of the car.
To highlight the impressive performance of the M440i, the tailpipes are also getting a fresh look, as the new rear end will house trapezoidal-shaped exits. Also coloured in gloss black, it complements the sharper recent styling. It also has a slight power increase.
The M4 Competition xDrive will also have similar exterior updates and a few new stickers, but the most noticeable addition is the power increase. The new M4 will have a 15kW bump to produce a potent 390kW.
The facelifted 4 Series is due to arrive in South Africa in the third quarter of this year and is sure to add a more striking presence on the road.
