Lamborghini Urus S: An entry-level SUV with Performante powers
If you thought Lamborghini was done hyping its Urus fold with the recently revealed Performante variant, well, think again.
As an entry-level variant to the Lamborghini family, carrying the Urus S nameplate packing power that matches that of the Performante.
To start with, the Urus S packs the Performante's 4.4-litre V8 engine with 490 kW and 850 Nm but here's the thing, it is a margin slower at 3.5 seconds compared to its bigger brother at 3.3 seconds due to the fact that it doesn't benefit from the Performante's weight-saving measures. The top speed is capped at the same 305 km/h.
Look, the Urus S is for those who aren't fans of the beefier cosmetics fitted in the Performante but want the thrilling sensation that comes with driving the Urus. With that said, the new Urus S gains a new front bumper that now incorporates more refined lines plus a new matt black stainless steel skidplate as standard.
There's also a new lightweight carbon fibre bonnet with matt black air vents. If that's not what you want, you can have the vents painted either in gloss black, body colour or carbon fibre in a shiny or matt finish. Buyers can also choose up to five style configuration options that combine body colour, shiny black, and carbon fibre components in a shiny and matt finish.
The rear comes with a new bumper with the lower part painted in matt black and a new twin-pipe exhaust design finished in brushed steel by default. Lambo offers matt or shiny black or Ad Personam's bright chrome as options for the exhalers.
The update sees the Urus S gaining a fresh treatment to the 23" and 22" wheels.
There's still no word on local pricing and availability, but Lamborghini currently has the Urus S listed on its official website.
