Hyundai is bolstering its i30 N stable with the introduction of the Drive-N Limited Edition models for both the high-performance hatch and Fastback N.
The development of the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition comes after both market and media feedback as well as ‘N-thusiasts’ who have already been modifying their i30 N cars. Both variants of the Drive-N Limited Edition come standard with distinctive exterior and interior styling and can be had in two exterior shades; Phantom Black Pearl and new Serenity White Pearl.
The exterior tweaks include 19” forged alloy wheels finished in dark bronze matte hue, black Hyundai insignias, special decals on the side, front and rear as well as two dedicated Drive-N badges in dark bronze finish.
The exterior is further complemented by Drive-N badges that display GPS coordinates of the home of the N models in Nurburgring where they have been developed, tested and sharpened since 2011.
Inside, a unique numbered badge marks the duo’s exclusivity by depicting their position among the limited volume of 800 units. The steering wheel, gear lever, armrest and handbrake are covered in Alcantara with red stitching instead of standard leather while all accents, all seat belts, N buttons, inserts plus stitching and N Light seats get the red colour finishing. There are exclusive floor mats with specific lettering, a heated steering wheel, a 10.25” AVN touchscreen and a wireless charger.
Besides the new menacing look, the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition comes with a rear stiffness bar, a glass roof, and an extensive list of Hyundai Smart Sense active safety features. The manual transmission-equipped i30 N comes with Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning with the automatic variant adding Blind-spot Collision-avoidance Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-avoidance Assist.
The performance is still delivered by an unchanged 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 206 kW of power and 392 Nm of torque. Both variants can be had with either a manual transmission or an 8-speed N DCT transmission.
Hyundai says it will produce 800 units of the i30 N Drive-N Limited Edition models with 620 models for the European market with the remaining 180 earmarked for the folks in Australia.
