Mini Countryman with JCW trim undergoes testing
Pretty much what the R-Line is to the Volkswagen brand, Mini has shared details of its upcoming Countryman S ALL4, which wears JCW attire.
The Mini S in JCW form, which was spotted undergoing rigorous testing in Iceland's harsh winter, packs a 2.0-litre twin-power engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system for better efficiency.
The engine, similar to the one residing in the regular S variant, works in tandem with a 48-volt mild hybrid system for better efficiency and churns out 160kW and 360Nm. For a clear perspective, the full-blown JCW model produces 233kW and 400Nm of torque.
Mini claimed that its Countryman S in JCW trim, with its increased traction, safety, and agility, performed admirably in two-digit sub-zero temperatures, deep snow-covered routes, and uneven tracks during testing.
In JCW trim, the sub-compact SUV gets a sharper look, courtesy of distinctive diffusers at the front and back and a bright chilli red exterior shade that blends nicely with the contrasting roof.
It also comes with high-gloss jet-black side mirrors and, in JCW fashion, LED headlights with two horizontal stripes as daytime running lights, further complimented by a JCW logo upfront and a red-white-black colour scheme on the octagonal front grille.
Buyers will be able to select from a variety of wheel designs and sizes, ranging from 17 to 21 inches.
Inside, the Countryman remains pretty much the same as the S variant but adds high-quality synthetic leather with red contrasting stitching. A black and red colour scheme of the vehicle trim continues on the door trim and dashboard.
Many will agree that the third-generation Mini Countryman, with its elegant design elements, surpasses its precursor in aesthetic appeal. The JCW trim serves to imbue the compact SUV with a heightened sense of sportiness while ensuring that performance and efficiency are not compromised.
