Following the Ranger bakkie reveal late last year, Ford is currently hard at work readying the Raptor derivative that is slated to make its world premiere in the coming weeks.
In the teaser video, the heavily camouflaged Ford Ranger Raptor goes through vigorous testing off the beaten track.
Sadly, the heavy camo seems to cover the most important bits and pieces we want to see, yet as is the case with the outgoing Raptor and normal Rangers, this one will likely spawn the same design cues worn by its counterparts.
What we expect is an off-road approach in the form of a raised suspension with bespoke features underneath, paddle shifters as well as enlarged fender flares to accommodate the bigger off-road tyres.
What remains a mystery is what powers the new Ranger Raptor but initial rumours pointed in the direction of a V6 and judging by the soundtrack from the video, this could very well be true.
This could be the same 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 engine that lurks underneath the Bronco Raptor with over 300 kW but we doubt it would be offered in this potent setup. If the rumours are anything to go by, the V6 will replace the somehow underpowered 2.0-litre Bi-Turbodiesel engine in the current Raptor.
The new Ford Ranger Raptor will make its debut on the 22nd of February, so for now we wait.
