Nissan South Africa announced the arrival of its new locally-manufactured Navara that boasts significant technical and cosmetic upgrades.
Offered in single cab and double cab body configurations, the new Nissan Navara can be had in 2WD and 4WD options.
On the outside, the new Nissan Navara is equipped with a V-Motion identity, redesigned wheels as well as the increased bed height. It comes fitted with new LED headlights and fog lamps.
The interior is bolstered with a re-styled steering wheel and improved seats in either cloth or leather. Nissan reckons the new Navara delivers a quieter ride, thanks to reduced engine and wind noise.
Depending on the trim level, the new Nissan Navar lurks an infotainment system with NissanConnect and an 8” touch screen. Other features include navigation, up to four USB slots, three 12V power outlets plus Bluetooth connectivity. There is a dual-air con, with additional vents for rear passengers as well as heated side mirrors and rain sensors for the wipers.
Powering the range is a 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine in two states of tune; 120 kW and 403 Nm and 140 kW / 450 Nm for the higher grade models. There is a sole 2.5-litre petrol engine for the entry-level XE single cab with 118 kW and 233 Nm of torque on offer.
The new Nissan Navara features both a 7-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission.
Nissan says it has improved the suspension, while also tuning the chassis for better towing performance. The bakkie comes with a more ergonomic rear step bumper for easier access to loads as well as a standard trailer sway control.
Pricing for the new Nissan Navara starts from R311,000 for the entry-level single cab model and R740,000 for the range-topping Pro 4x4 double cab variant.
