No Windscreen, No Problem: Novitec’s McLaren Elva is Pure Work of Art
The roofless McLaren Elva is already a potent product in standard form with 600 kW and 800 Nm; however, that has not stopped the folks at Novitec from building an even more potent supercar.
Wielding the same 4.0-litre V6 powerplant, the German tuner has turned up the Elva’s power figures to 676 kW and 898 Nm, thanks to the installation of an N-Tronic module that uses revised mapping for components such as fuel injection, ignition as well as boost pressure control.
That gives the Novitec Elva a 2.7 seconds sprint from 0-100 km/h - 0.1 seconds quicker than the stock model. Its top speed is over 330 km/h versus the standard model’s 326 km/h.
There are minimal changes, however, Novitec has lowered the Elva’s ride height by 20 mm for enhanced handling prowess. It sits on 20” and 21” Vossen forged wheels that can be had in 72 different shades, while buyers can also choose between brushed or polished options.
Regarding the interior, Novitec says it can tailor it as per the owner’s wish. The McLaren Elva has been joined by its windscreen-bearing counterpart, which is 20 kg heavier than the screenless model. Only 149 units of the Elva have been built.
As a rare supercar breed and a product that gains inspiration from the 60’s creations of the legendary Bruce McLaren, the Elva promises to be one for the books where the P1 and Speedtail variants are listed.
