Order books for the Alfa Romeo’s first compact SUV dubbed Tonale in its exclusive Edizione Speciale launch version are finally open.
As a natural entry point into the world of electrification for the brand, the Tonale Edizione Speciale is powered by a hybridised 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 95 kW and 240 Nm. The powertrain is paired with a 48-volt 15 kW and 55 Nm P2 electric motor plus a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The new Alfa Romeo Tonale Edizione Speciale features what the Turin-based automaker says delivers sportiness and technology, these include; 20” alloy wheels that house red brake callipers and Matrix Full LED with the adaptive system.
The interior is equipped with a privacy windows, alluminium shift paddles, keyless entry, power lift tailgate, 10.25” touchscreen radio with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a wireless charging pad and a 12.3” instrument panel. There is also a sporty leather steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, front and rear sensors with a rear-view camera.
The Tonale is the first car on the market to come fitted with NFT technology which is based on the ‘blockchain card’ concept that records vehicle data, generates a certificate that can be used as a guarantee that the car has been properly maintained, with a positive impact on its residual value.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale can be had in two flavours; Super and TI with the former available with the Sprint pack and the latter with the Veloce pack.
It comes with an extended five-year warranty across European markets, local availability to be confirmed.
