Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: The Most Powerful Cayenne Ever
Dubbed the most powerful Cayenne of all time, Porsche has taken the wraps off its new Turbo E-Hybrid SUV, which seeks to rival the likes of the Ferrari Purosangue, Lamborghini Urus, and Aston Martin DBX707, to name a few.
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid succeeds the previous iteration and now produces 44kW and 50Nm more, thanks to a bigger battery pack and a few other tweaks.
The combined output of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and the 130kW electric motor is 544kW, with 950Nm of torque. When compared to the Cayenne Turbo GT, which slots in below the Turbo E-Hybrid, these figures represent a rise of 59kW and 100Nm, respectively.
While it’s more powerful than the aforementioned Turbo GT, the SUV gets to 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, or 3.6 seconds for the Coupe—0.4 seconds slower than the Turbo GT, likely due to the extra weight of the battery pack. Porsche says that the electric driving range is rated at up to 82 km, while the charging times for the larger 25.9kWh battery pack have been shortened.
Both models are equipped with an 8-speed torque-converter computerised gearbox.
Available both as an SUV and Coupe SUV, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid models boast a unique front-end design, prominent cooling air intakes with glossy black air blades, dual twin tailpipes in brushed stainless steel, and red brake callipers.
Benefiting from the updates rolled out to the Cayenne range earlier this year, the interior is enriched with standard features, including aluminium inlays for the dashboard and door panels, Race-Tex roof lining, a heated GT sports steering wheel, and 18-way adjustable leather sports seats. Buyers can opt for 14-way adjustable leather comfort seats.
The GT Package endows the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupé with a more assertive appearance, incorporating features from the Cayenne Turbo GT. These elements include the high-performance Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, 22-inch GT design wheels, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, rear-axle steering, a unique front section with black accents, black wheel arch extensions, carbon side plates on the roof spoiler, and a carbon rear diffuser.
While the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT felt like an already complete package, the Turbo E-Hybrid promises to bring immense potential into the high-performance fold.
