As a manner of keeping the Porsche Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo fresh in the respective EV stable, the Stuttgart carmaker is introducing new colours, more rapid charging and tech upgrades.
The Taycan electric sports cars boast exclusive exterior colours that were worn by Porsche cars of the 90s as part of the brand’s Exclusive Manufaktur. The Porsche Taycan cars can be had with Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus in addition to 17 standard paint colours.
From launch, the Porsche Taycan has always been available with the sixth generation of Porsche Communication Management that only supported Apple CarPlay and now accepts Android Auto integration.
Porsche has further improved the Taycan’s thermal management and charging functions meaning the high-voltage battery can now be heated to a slightly higher temperature with the Turbo Charging. This will result in an earlier fast charging at a higher charge level yet Porsche says it does not know how fast the Taycan charge.
Offered as an option is the new Remote Park Assist that allows drivers to remotely control parking prowesses via a smartphone without the need of a driver inside the vehicle. The Taycan can be parallel and perpendicular parked using the same method.
Porsche has also tweaked the Voice Pilot voice assistant that can now understand instructions in everyday language even better. According to Porsche, the SATNav now calculates more quickly while also displaying information more clearly.
The layout and the operating system have been slightly overhauled and now include five menu options instead of three.
The updated Porsche Taycan is expected to be available in 2022.
