Sportier Toyota RAV4 GR-S breaks cover
Recently, Toyota honed its Corolla Cross crossover SUV with the GR-S treatment as part of the continued expansion of the Gazoo Racing brand.
This time, the brand has shifted its focus to the RAV4 SUV that gets the same appeal with the GR-S sportier treatment. The new RAV4 GR-S follows the same sportier formula applied to the Hilux, Corolla Cross and Land Cruiser 300.
The RAV4 GR-S features piano black wheel arch trims and side mouldings door garnishes on the outside. The front end spawns prominent fog light bezels finished in a black G-mesh pattern. Depending on the variant, the new front spoilers are finished in dark silver or gunmetal grey.
Toyota has also added discreet GR badging on the front grille and back door.
The new RAV4 GR-S sits on standard 19” alloy wheels finished in gloss black with fine bright machined pinstripe detailing. According to Toyota, it’s the first model to have alloys finished using a new, ultra-precise line-cutting technique.
Inside, the new Toyota RAV4 GR-S is fitted with sports front seats finished in tactile, suede-effect upholstery with synthetic leather bolsters. The headrests, floor mats, and steering wheel get the GR insignia to remind drivers about what they are saddling into. There is silver stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shift lever and gunmetal trim on the door and steering wheel.
As standard, the RAV4 GR-S features a 10.5” infotainment system and a more significant 12.3” driver’s digital instrument cluster as part of the upgrade for the 2023 model year. Other standard features with the GR-S package include power adjustment for the front seats, memory settings for the driver’s seat, and a panoramic view monitor.
Underneath, the RAV4 GR-S gets new stiffer springs and shock absorber settings for enhanced handling prowess.
The new Toyota RAV4 GR-S is set to launch in Europe before the end of the year. However, it remains to be seen when it will make its way to our shores.
