Stellantis unveils its updated lineup for 2024
Some of our favourite brands are housed within the Stellantis umbrella. Although the motoring giant might have been largely idle for some time, it's planning to introduce a lineup in the coming months that will create a stir, even if it's a bit quiet on the Alfa front.
Fiat is a brand that inspires youthfulness with a degree of Italian flair. To keep up with the times, the brand's popular 500 has been remade with an electric heart. The Fiat 500e is the new name, and it comes with a fresh and refined new look and a lively motor.
On a similar path, one of our favourite hot hatch brands has released a new model. Abarth has produced some of the most entertaining hot hatches over the last decade, but unfortunately, their recent announcement to discontinue their ICE power cars was disappointing. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the brand to fill the gap and release the new Abarth 500e. The brand claims it maintains the thrilling handling dynamics of its predecessor, but with a new electric powerhouse.
Jeep is the next brand to add to the equation. The Wrangler is a car that has inspired many to take the path less travelled, and its latest facelifted Wrangler continues to liven up its lineup. The new Wrangler comes with a refined interior and a more advanced user experience, but the exterior retains its familiarity.
The Opel family continues to provide solid offerings for those who itch for a German badge with French donations. The Corsa has become a reasonably frequent sight on the roads, and it continues to offer good value in a hatch package. Although it shares many components with its French cousins, the updated Corsa is a stylish hatchback that provides customers with a tried-and-tested power unit and user experience. It closely resembles its Mokka sibling, offering a smaller and more affordable variation.
The last brand to add to its lineup is Peugeot and its Landtrek. Yes, the Landtrek didn’t score well at the TopGear Bakkie Wars as a leisure bakkie, but the new commercialised single cab and double cab might be the key to the Landtrek's future success. Its 6-speed manual gearbox and weight shedding promises to liven it up and provide a torquey yet utilitarian option to businesses and farming operations looking for something different and relatively cost-effective.
