Starting with the GL, it slots above the GA variant and shares many of its features with the GLX counterpart. It comes fitted with alloy wheels in smokey chrome finish and front fog lights. It’s also available with a choice of all body colours and an optional two-tone shade.
The interior of the Jimny GL is kitted as standard with electric windows, electrically-adjustable mirrors, a Suzuki audio system, Bluetooth, USB connectivity plus a multi-functional steering wheel. Power steering and air conditioning come standard.
Its motivation still comes from a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 75 kW and 130 Nm and can be had either with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Like all Jimny variants, the GS also features an AllGrip system and hill-descent control.
The Jimny Rhino Edition comes fitted with exclusive rhino decals, rhino-branded soft spare wheel cover, Suzuki heritage grille, red mud flaps plus rain and wind deflectors.
The history of the Rhino Edition kit dates back to the SJ-series where it first appeared 40 years ago and according to Suzuki, it has since become synonymous with the durability, plucky and go-anywhere nature of the Jimny.
The new Suzuki Jimny GL with a manual transmission is priced at R336,900 and R357,900 for the auto-equipped variant. It costs an additional R1,296 to fit the Jimny with the Rhino Edition Kit.
The price includes a five-year/200,000 km promotional warranty and four-year/60,000km service plan.
