Unleashing Fashion on Wheels: One-of-a-Kind Rolls-Royce Phantom Syntopia Revealed
Created in collaboration with Dutch fashion designer and Haute Couturière, Iris van Herpen, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed the Phantom Syntopia, described by the British marque as the most ambitious, singular and highly-bespoke Phantom ever.
The process to make the bespoke Phantom Syntopia started four years ago, and it gets its name from Iris’ landmark collection of the year 2018.
As a model that stands out, it’s based on the Exceed model and wears a one-off Liquid Noir paint developed by Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective division. The special shade reveals purple, blue, magenta and gold undertones when iridescent in sunlight and viewed at different angles. The bonnet features a subtle rendering of the Weaving Water motif as the interior.
Rolls-Royce is known for its creative touch when it comes to the interior, and the Phantom Syntopia is no exception. Attention to detail was paid here, thanks to the expertise of the brand’s Bespoke Collective team and Iris van Herpen.
That said, it gets a Weaving Water Starlight headliner. These precise symmetrical cuts showcase a silver ‘liquid metal’ texture made from woven nylon fabric, also used in the designer’s ‘Embossed Sounds’ collection. In typical RR style, 187 of the 995 sparkling fibreoptic stars were individually placed by hand. 85 petals have also been attached by hand by Iris’ team, based in Goodwood. The theme has also been applied to the picnic tables and passenger panels.
As for the front and rear seats, these are finished in Magic Grey leather and a special silk-blend fabric for the latter.
Created in close collaboration with the clients, the Syntopia is the first Rolls-Royce to feature a bespoke scent dubbed ‘the Nose of the Bespoke Collective’ developed by an expert perfumer. For those fortunate to purchase Syntopia, Iris van Herpen will design a one-off garment specifically for clients.
