The Lexus car brand is preparing to transition to a fully-electric company with a full global switch to EV by the year 2035.
Revealed in December 2021, Lexus has now published images and animations of its battery-electric sports car that will be part of a full line-up of BEVs the Japanese marque is hoping to launch in 2030.
The Lexus BEV range of cars comprise, BEV Sport, RZ 450e and the Sedan Carousel.
The BEVs will launch under the Lexus Electrified brand vision and according to the manufacturer, it aims to fully leverage the potential of electrification to increase the joy of driving for all its customers.
The details of the pictured battery-electric sports car remain under tight wraps but Lexus says it boasts bold proportions and low ride height as is always the case with high-performance sports cars.
At the same time, Lexus says it revives the spirit of the legendary LFA.
Apparently, its solid-state batteries will enable the battery-electric sports car to travel over 700 km on a single charge while also being able to hurdle from a standstill to 100 km/h in less than two seconds.
The battery-electric sports car also previews the next-gen design language that will be worn by the new BEVs. Besides the lack of a combustion engine, the sports car shares its proportions with the LFA.
