Mercedes-Maybach S580e: Electrification Meets Indulgence
Mercedes-Maybach has finally revealed its S580e model as its first-ever plug-in hybrid vehicle following the introduction of the S580e by Mercedes-Benz in 2021.
That said, the S580e adds a dose of luxury associated with the folks at Maybach to the already opulent S-Class. According to Mercedes-Maybach, the S580e will first launch in China, Thailand, and Europe, followed by other countries.
Powering the Maybach S580e is the same 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with an electric motor good for a total system power output of 375 kW and 750 Nm of torque. When it comes to performance, the Maybach S580e dashes from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds before maxing out at 250 km/h.
The Maybach S580e is fitted with an 11 kW standard 3-phase AC charger, and customers can also use the optional 60 kW DC fast charger, which can fully charge the car from empty in 30 minutes. On battery power alone, the S580e can travel up to 100 km before running out of charge.
The S-Class is all about luxury, and the Maybach S580e takes things further thanks to heated, cooled and massage rear seats that can also recline flat to form 'beds'. Buyers will be able to customise their S580e via a range of customising options.
Maybach is known for its uber-lavish products, and the S580e is an even more luxurious version of the S-Class. As it stands, there's no word on the local introduction of the limousine.
