Audi’s Black Edition adds exclusivity to the local A4 range
Audi South Africa is upping its A4 range with the introduction of special-edition derivatives that bring with them a host of cosmetic and functional features.
Called the Black Edition models, Audi says the first A4 models to receive the treatment are the 35 TFSI, 35 TDI, 40 TFSI, and the S4 TFSI as an option. Only 100 A4 models have been set aside for the local market, making them a rare sight.
In terms of exterior features, the Black Edition treatment kits the A4 range with features such as the black styling package with black badging, an S line exterior package, 19-inch alloy wheels, a glass sunroof, privacy glass, and Matric LED headlights.
Inside, these models feature an S line interior package, fine Nappa leather with S embossing, a storage and luggage compartment package, a technology package with MMI navigation and Audi Connect, 3-zone air-conditioning, electrically adjustable front seats, an Audi virtual cockpit plus, a rear-view camera, and a wireless charging pad.
According to Audi SA, the cost of this special-edition model is significantly lower when these items are to be optioned individually.
Regarding the S4 Black Edition, the model features a Bang & Olufsen Premium sound system with 3D sound, sports seats with pneumatically adjustable lumbar support, a massage function for front seats, and seat heating.
The exterior of the S4 Black Edition is equally impressive, featuring a carbon boot spoiler that adds a sporty touch to the vehicle’s design. This combination of interior luxury and exterior style makes the S4 Black Edition a standout option.
For the 2024 model year, Audi SA plans to expand the Black Edition treatment to variants such as the Q2, A3, S3, A5, S5, Q3 SUV, Q3 Sportback, and Q5 SUV and Sportback. Additionally, the marque will also add the option of an Urban Edition to the A3 Sportback 35 TFSI and the Q2 35 TFSI, which will offer an alternative to the Black Edition.
The introduction of the A4 Black Edition models offers a unique blend of style, comfort, and advanced technology. With only 100 units available for the local market, these models are a rare and exclusive offering.
