Exclusively available for high-performance car affecianados in Switzerland, Chevrolet has reserved the Swiss Edition of the Corvette Stingray variant for the Swiss market.
Offered in three coupes and three convertibles; it is available in a choice of six exterior and interior colour combinations; black, Torch Red and Amplify Orange for the coupes and Arctic White, Hypersonic Gray and Rapid Blue for the convertibles.
Powering the Chevrolet Covertte Swiss Edition is the stock 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The powertrain spews 359 kW that is enough to catapult the sports car to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
Like all variants of the Stingray, the Swiss Edition features a host of complete equipment in the form of the Z51 performance package. These include; high-performance Brembo brakes, high-performance Z51 suspension, high-performance exhaust, an electronic differential, front air extractor and rear spoiler as well as an uprated cooling system.
It rides on run-flat Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/35ZR19 at the front axle and 305/30ZR20 wheels at the rear.
Other options fitted across the European versions of the Corvette Stingray inlcude a drive mode selector, Carbon Flash stylistic elements, electronic dual-zone air conditioning, heated steering wheel, 8-position front seats, electrically adjustable, with integrated heating and ventilation, performance recorder plus a 14-speaker Bose sound system.
Buyers in Siwtzerland should be prepared to fork out 119,300 Swiss Francs for the Coupe and 126,700 for the convertibles. At the current exchange rate, this coverts to R1,982,677 and R2,105,659 respectively.
The buying process, accoring to Chevrolet, includes reserving the Corvette Swiss Edition immediately against payment of a refundable deposit of CHF 2,000 (about R30,000).
