Following the brief appearance of the Shul electric supercar earlier this year at Goodwood, India’s innovative startup marque, Varizani, has taken the wraps off its sleek spaceship-looking car dubbed Ekonk.
Tipping the weight scales at 738 kg, the Varizani Ekonk is one of the lightest electric cars in the market today, thanks to a body that is entirely made out of carbon fibre and what Varizani calls DiCo technology.
The technology is based on Biomimicry which is the study of how animals and humans utilise breathing to regulate their body temperature. Unlike other modern electric supercars that use liquid cooling to cool the battery pack, the Ekonk uses air cooling – another weight-saving measure.
Regarded as the fastest car to ever come out of India, the Varizani Ekonk requires only 2.54 seconds to complete a 0-100 km/h sprint and it will reach a top speed of 309 km/h, thanks to an electric powertrain that gushes out 531 kW of power.
According to Varizani, the Ekonk also has one of the lowest drag coefficients making it the most fluid car aerodynamically.
Factors such as the capacity of the battery pack, driving range and charging times remain coy at this stage.
