Mercedes-AMG GT43 and GT53 Get a Fresh Look
Introduced in 2018, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door coupe remains a best-of-both-worlds executive vehicle that blends practicality and performance.
For the 2023 model year, the Stuttgart-based automaker is refreshing its AMG GT 43 and GT 53 4 Matic+ models to keep them fresh in the respective fold.
On the outside, the GT 4-Door models now get a reworked front apron inspired by the badass GT63 courtesy of two outer decorative air intakes and a large central air intake under the radiator grille.
The duo can be specified with the V8 Styling Package, which adds a new front apron, longitudinal member panels, a rear apron with a diffuser, a wide lower air intake and functional air deflection elements.
Other optional packages include the Chrome Package or Carbon Fibre Package, which hones the vehicles with a high-gloss chrome front splitter and carbon fibre front splitter. Mercedes-AMG offers the Aerodynamic Package with the V8 Styling Package for enhanced aerodynamics.
Mercedes-AMG says buyers can now choose the Opalite white metallic colour while the wheel portfolio and upholstery remain unchanged.
Inside, the GT43 and GT53 AMG models feature an electric sliding sunroof, a wireless charging pad between the rear seats, an updated MBUX system and redesigned AMG-specific displays. Buyers can choose between the optional Burmester surround-sound system or the high-end 3D surround sound system.
Powering the duo is a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine with 270 kW and 500 Nm in the case of the GT43 and 320 kW and 520 Nm in the GT53. The former sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds en route to a top speed of 270 km/h, while the latter gets the same task completed in 4.5 seconds before maxing out at 285 km/h.
Whichever derivative of the GT 4-Door you choose, it remains a great all-around car with room for four passengers and superb performance.
