About a month ago, Lexus gave us a glimpse of its battery-electric sports car that will be part of a full line-up of BEVs that are earmarked for launch in the year 2030.
Now, the Japanese car manufacturer has announced that its sports car accompanying model will be revealed as the brand’s first dedicated battery electric vehicle. Dubbed 450e, it’s developed under the Lexus Driving Signature philosophy to set a ‘new benchmark for a premium driving experience’.
While Lexus remains tight-lipped regarding the specifications of the RZ 450e, the teaser image shows a completely sealed front spindle grille with vertical openings on each side. There are also sharper headlights plus fenders that stretch to the end of the headlights.
In terms of power, there’s no official word from the manufacturer but speculations state that the crossover could use an electric system with about 160 kW of power courtesy of dual motors.
The recently revealed all-electric sports car is said to travel over 700 km before requiring a recharge and its 0-100 km/h sprint is dispatched in less than two seconds.
Lexus says it will reveal the 450e during a global event on 20 April, 2022.
