Ineos Grenadier priced for SA

Following extensive testing across South Africa, the folks at Ineos have finally put a price tag on their new Grenadier before it officially goes on sale in October.

When it finally launches in SA, the rugged off-road bruiser will be available in three trim levels; Station Wagon, Trailmaster Edition and Fieldmaster Edition with a choice of either turbocharged petrol or turbocharged diesel powerplants.

The Ineos Grenadier is available with a 2-speed transfer case and permanent four-wheel-drive plus up to three differential locks. Speaking of off-road capabilities, the Grenadier boasts a ground clearance of 264 mm, wading depth of 800 mm, an approach angle of 36.2˚ and a departure angle of 36.1˚.

On the outside, the Grenadier can be painted in six solid and four metallic body hues with buyers having the option to choose either black or white contrast roof. Patrons also have the option to personalise the Grenadier through contrast accents in the form of door wrap or contrast nose wrap.

The interior features a central touchscreen that displays information such as attitude, steering angle, system temperatures and drivetrain utilisation. As a five-seater, the Grenadier features a 60:40 split-folding rear bench that allows for 2,035 litres of boot space.

In the safety stable, the Ineos Grenadier comes standard with ABS brakes, six airbags as well an ESC system.

Powering the new Ineos Grenadier are two BMW engine choices; 3.0-litre turbo petrol with 210 kW and 450 Nm and a 3.0-litre turbodiesel with 183 kW and 550 Nm. Power is accessed via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

According to Ineos Automotive SA, it plans to have three retail and service sites in SA; the SMH Group in Gauteng and SMG dealers in both Cape Town and Durban. Since the Grenadiers are powered by BMW engines, additional BMW dealers will carry out service matters.
