The Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is a Pure Masterpiece

As far as flamboyance is concerned, this is perfection and something we’ve never seen before.

The Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is a Pure Masterpiece

Rolls-Royce has unveiled its one-of-a-kind coach-built masterpiece model, the La Rose Noire, rumoured to be the most expensive vehicle in the world. The model draws inspiration from the Black Baccara rose.

The Rolls-Royce Noire is part of a series of four Droptail models that have been commissioned by separate customers.

The Noire wears the complex True Love red shade, which makes the car appear to change colour depending on the point from which it is viewed. This was made possible by developing an entirely new paint process that was perfected over 150 careful iterations.

Then there’s the Hydroshade dark finish that has been developed specifically for this project. The Noire also comes with a removable hard top that gives the Droptail two unique characters: a roadster and a coupe.

Exclusive to the Noire is the low-slung, unique roof, which gives the Noire a sporty yet elegant look. The roof comes with an electrochromic glass section, which becomes a near-translucent shade.

The Noire sports striking 22-inch alloy wheels finished in the dark Mystery paint.

Inside, a dark yet reflective finish adorns various metal details. What particularly stands out is the artwork, an abstract expression of falling rose petals. These were constructed using 1,603 pieces of black wood veneer triangles, 1,070 symmetrical elements that form the background, and 533 asymmetrical red pieces that depict the rose petals.

Other highlights include seats edged in both dark red Mystery leather and light red True Love leather.

The Noire Droptail is powered by Rolls-Royce’s 6.7-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that pumps out 442kW of power, and due to its behemoth size, it comes with rear-wheel steering for improved agility in addition to an air suspension system.

If you’re going for ostentation, this is as close to perfection as it gets – a true novelty.

While Rolls-Royce hasn’t disclosed the car’s exact price, reports estimate it at around 30 million US dollars, or approximately R565.5 million.
