An electric Range Rover that looks exactly like a Range Rover? That’s the whole point. We travelled to Gaydon, England, for a first look at the Range Rover Electric, to find out whether Range Rover has reinvented the icon or simply taught electricity to behave like one.
In this first impression, we take a walk around the new Range Rover Electric and share our first driving impressions. Two 260kW permanent-magnet motors deliver a combined 404kW and 850Nm, enough for 0-100km/h in as little as 4.3 seconds. It’s also claimed to be around 7dB quieter than its combustion sibling, and its motor sound is tuned around an F-major 7/9 chord.
Does “Range Rover first, Electric second” hold up from behind the wheel?
