Bugatti Raises the Golden Luxury Bar
Bugatti prides itself on being the pinnacle of motoring, producing some of the fastest cars in terms of top-end speed in the world, all while offering an incredible sense of luxury and exclusivity. To match their attitude towards exclusivity, the famed Chiron now proudly hosts a golden paintwork, aptly named the “Golden Era”.
This fresh idea was proposed by an avid Bugatti collector, enamoured with the brand’s history, particularly the ingenuity behind the W16 engine. With such engines on the brink of extinction, Bugatti agreed to create a car which honoured the brand’s heritage and its engineering achievements. This esteemed customer stated that he believed the Chiron Super Sport, with its W16 engine, marked a pivotal moment in automobile history.
The Bugatti team looked back on their previous milestones and decided on an idea that beautifully represents its heritage and decided that the Chiron was the car of choice to form the basis of this special project. Forty-five sketches of the brand’s most iconic cars will be hand-drawn onto its body. Although seemingly quite straightforward, Bugatti insisted that this process needed to be perfectly hand-crafted. It also demanded a fair amount of patience, all the while working with the collector who initially suggested this artwork. To say he was thrilled with the result would be an understatement.
To add to this piece, the golden paint shade of ‘Dore‘ was selected to complement the sketches in what’s been named a timeless and celebratory artwork. A car which will go down in history as one of the rarest and most beautiful cars ever made.
