LEGO Group Announces Iconic Land Rover Defender 90 Set
To celebrate 75 years of Land Rover, the LEGO Group has announced its build-your-own-adventure Icons Classic Land Rover Defender 90 2,335-piece set.
Measuring 32 cm, the LEGO set comprises a two-in-one format allowing builders to make an everyday road-ready model or customise it for adventures.
The model includes accessories such as a roof rack, raised air intake, front bumper with working winch, side rails, toolbox and traction plates. Other interesting features include a working steering system, suspension, opening doors and bonnet.
“Defender is synonymous with adventure, and this new LEGO set is a perfect way to capture the spirit of an incomparable, unstoppable automotive icon whilst also sharing the playful side of the vehicle”, says Paul Barritt, Director of Land Rover Classic.
The set is priced from R3,999 and will officially go on sale on 4 April in LEGO stores and online at www.lego.com/Defender with free-to-go LEGO VIP access. From 1 July, the LEGO set will be available through Land Rover retail channels.
The Defender comes after the LEGO Group introduced the iconic Chevrolet Camaro Z28 set in 2022, priced at R2,599.
