McLaren 720S GT3 EVO Roars onto the Scene

McLaren Motorsport has ripped off the covers of its new 720S GT3 EVO, which is available as a new-build race car or as an update package to the existing racer introduced in 2018.

While McLaren still has to homologate the racing car for the 2023 season, the 720S GT3 EVO has been designed to be accessible to customer outfits and drivers of all abilities.

Speaking of the changes, the new GT3 can be distinguished from its predecessor by several enhancements, such as the aerodynamically-enhanced front bumper and splitter, which now boast quick-release fastenings for easy removal and replacement by the teams.

A front bonnet gurney also helps balance and improves cooling performance, while designers also changed the auxiliary lamp positions for better night visibility.

Moving to the rear, the GT3 EVO is fitted with a wing pylon mechanism that can now be easily adjusted, while downforce is helped by a taller rear wing gurney for better downforce. The engineers have also tweaked the suspension, thanks to all-new TTX40 Ohlins four-way adjustable dampers, new front and rear upper wishbones and a new clevis for increased droop.

It also features new uprights, with the front boasting a bolted brake calliper while the brakes have closed face bells for improved disc durability.

The 720S GT3 EVO is available to order now, and existing 720S GT3 owners and teams can purchase a full update kit.
