Alfa Romeo triumphs at this year's 1000 Miglia
The 42nd edition of the 1000 Miglia, described by Enzo Ferrari as the most beautiful race in the world, has finally ended with another victory for Alfa Romeo.
The 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport, driven by Vesco and Salvinelli, was the first vehicle to cross the finish line. The 1929 GC 1750, driven by the team of Aliverti and Valente, took third place.
The 1000 Miglia race, which began last week and ran from June 11 to 15, saw vintage cars produced until 1957 drive through the scenic Italian countryside.
A total of 400 models participated in the race, 50 of which were Alfa Romeo models and were accompanied by the new Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport limited edition models.
The race took place in an anti-clockwise configuration, and it kicked off in Brescia, passing Bergamo, Novara, and Vercelli before reaching Turin for the first stage finish. In total, the road for the 1000 Miglia 2024 race covered 2,200km.
The event garnered considerable public interest, with numerous spectators gathering to witness and interact with the elite crews piloting these remarkable vehicles this year.
Also, the public got the opportunity to see, for the first time, the Alfa Romeo Junior, which is likely to be introduced in Mzansi later this year or early next year.
