All-electric Audi e-Tron range scheduled for 2022 local launch

Audi wants to ensure it has the “youngest and freshest product offering in the market”.

With almost every manufacturer planning to go the electric way, Audi is committing to its plans to have every new model be all-electric by the year 2026.

For the South African market, the Ingolstadt-based marque will introduce the e-tron line up in the first quarter of 2022 that consists of six new e-tron models spread across three different model ranges.

The SUV range will comprise of the e-tron 50 and e-tron 55 while the CUV tab will include the e-tron Sportback 55 and e-tron Sportback S. Meanwhile, the high-performance stable will consist of the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT.

“Announcing our electric vehicle range is a key part our objective to have the youngest and freshest product offering in the market and we’re excited to share more details with our customers on our electric journey over the next few months, leading up to the e-tron range’s official model introduction in quarter one next year,” said Sascha Sauer, Head of Audi South Africa.

Audi South Africa will announce the product specification as well as pricing of each model closer to launch.
