Hyundai Staria Panel Van goes on sale in SA

Built to replace the long-standing H1 Panel Van, Hyundai is introducing the new Staria Panel Van to the South African market.

As a suitable business support vehicle, the new Staria Panel Van is longer, wider and taller than the H1 variant, thanks to a length increase of 103 mm, a width increase of 77 mm, and an added height of 65 mm. Its wheelbase has also seen a stretch of 73 mm.

For loading convenience, the sliding door opening width has been increased to 870 mm while the loading height is lower at a still generous 573 mm. Compared to the H1 with its 800 kg cargo load capacity, the Staria Panel Van boasts 900 kg of load capacity, which should be adequate for day-to-day business tasks.

The all-new Hyundai Staria Panel Van includes a full-house of equipment. This list includes: Electronic stability control, auto-adjusting headlights, daytime running lights, 17″ alloy wheels, heated- and electronically-adjustable outside rear-view mirrors, hill-assist, multi-functional steering wheel, and cruise control.

The new Staria Panel Van does away with the H1’s lift-type rear door for twin swing-type barn doors.

At the heart of the new Staria Panel Van beats a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 130 kW and 430 Nm of torque. The engine is wielded to an 8-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.

For towing necessities, the Staria is rated at 2,500 kg (braked) and 750 kg (unbraked).

At a price of R599,900, the Staria Panel Van also comes with a 7-year/200,000 km warranty, 6-year/90,000 km service plan and roadside assistance for 5 years or 150,000 km. The service interval is 15,000 km.
