Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan to join the range

Land Rover is bolstering its Discovery range with the introduction of the Metropolitan Edition model.

The new Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition builds on the appeal of the R-Dynamic trim level and adds a host of design enhancements as well as more tech.

The Metropolitan Edition features the Bright Atlas detailing for the grille and Discovery lettering, Hakuba Silver lower bumper inserts, privacy glass as well as a sliding panoramic roof. A set of 22″ Diamond Turned alloys with Gloss Grey detailing house black Land Rover brake callipers.

Offered as standard is a head-up display, heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a front cooler compartment and four-zone climate control.

Available with a choice of two engine options; P360 and a D300 diesel engine, the P360 comes in the form of a hybridised 3.0-litre engine with 265 kW and 500 Nm while the D300 features a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel unit with 221 kW and 650 Nm.

Both engines employ an 8-speed automatic transmission.

For towing purposes, the Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition can tow up to 3,500 kg and features the Advanced Tow Assist technology.

Pricing will be available closer to its local introduction earmarked for the first half of 2022.
