It's the first Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer with a fully-operational roof.

California-based luxury specialist Singer is known for giving tired Porsche 911s a fresh new start, and this time around, the company has presented its latest restoration Turbo Study project as a response to requests from Porsche owners.

Called the 911 Turbo Study Cabriolet, Singer has applied its Turbo Study expertise to the cabriolet body style of the Type 964 model. As a reimagined Porsche 911 Cabriolet by Singer, the restored model features bespoke lightweight carbon fibre bodywork in Cadiz Red. Celebrating the iconic 930 Turbo, the bodywork has been reimagined to optimise aesthetic and functional performance.

Developed mainly for the Turbo Study, the 911 Cabriolet features a front fascia with splitter and rear sharkfin air intake.

According to Singer, using carbon fibre has allowed the experts to reduce the weight of the car whilst improving stiffness for better dynamic response. The reimagined 911 Cabriolet is fitted with electronically-adjustable sports seats in black with Tartan seat centres and wood accents in Black Forest trim as well as in red. Other modern features include air-conditioning plus inductive phone charging.

The rear conceals a reworked 3.9-litre air-cooled flat-six engine that pumps out a good 380 kW of power, thanks to a pair of turbochargers. It puts down power via a 6-speed manual gearbox that drives the rear wheels. Singer doesn’t mention performance figures, but with that amount of power and a lightweight stance, it should be quick.

The reimagined 911 Cabriolet has been refined with reduced noise levels and the ability to opt for more compliant damping and suspension performance. This is thanks to a touring-focused suspension setup.

With such power outputs, you expect the 911 to provide optimum safety; ask no more. It comes with ABS and traction control as well as a carbon-ceramic braking system.

Regarding pricing, Singer says it depends on the specification requested by the car’s owner.
