Spin for the win

Sam Sam crowned 2021 Red Bull Shay iMoto spinning champion

The Red Bull Shay’ iMoto spinning competition has crowned the young Samkeliso ‘Sam Sam’ as the 2021 champion.

The event was held in Johannesburg at a closed track where obstacles like Puma ‘Kitchen’, BMW M-Town and Make-out Corner were tackled. The Nelspruit local and Cape Town’s Chadwin ‘Boksie‘ Hadjie were the last two spinners in a no-holds-barred final battle and their weapons, of course, were the legendary BMW E30s.

Both spinners showcased their spinning skills, however, Sam Sam sealed the win by undertaking his signature stunt that involved jumping out and then back into the car counter-clockwise.

“Last year I went out in the semi-finals and this year we came back stronger, pushing the whole way until the finals. It means a lot to the team, but also to everyone who supports us. Today I’ve made a lot of people proud,” remarked Sam Sam after his win.

This year, the competition is in its third iteration and is proudly supported by BMW and Puma.
