Episode 7: Sandile Mahlangu, Star in a Reasonably Priced Car South Africa

Sandile Mahlangu takes on the TopGear Swift in Episode 7 of Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. Actor, entrepreneur, and occasional thrill-chaser, he proves that life and lap times are best tackled head-on. He may daily-drive a G87 BMW M2, but in our Suzuki Swift, Sandile delivers one of the most bizarre and emotional drives of the season. Fresh out of the car and buzzing with adrenaline, he opens up about why exhilaration sharpens his outlook on life, how a near-death experience in a ferrochrome mine reshaped his fear threshold, and why acting is more about reacting than performing. Hosted by Jason Goliath, the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is TopGear South Africa’s latest video series, and the car in question is none other than the newest Suzuki Swift 1,2 GL derivative. The TopGear SA team has simply added a roll cage to the frame as well as a racing seat and harness, but other than that, the car is a standard Suzuki Swift. This is Episode 7, and the leaderboard keeps getting tighter. With a late charge that sees Sandile claw back four seconds on his final lap, he shakes up the standings… indicators, wipers and all.
